150 tonne Blue Whale on your beach

The body of a 27-metre long, 150-tonne female Blue Whale was found in the Whanganui Inlet of New Zealand. Although most of the tail had been devoured and with shark bite marks over its body it was highly likely made after its death. It is rare to see an animal the size of a bus let alone the size of 3x buses.

Some interesting facts:

* Blue whales are the largest animals ever known to have lived on Earth
(This fact is sometimes argued by dinosaur experts who estimated from a bone fragment that a sauropod dinosaur maybe have reached 250 metric tons in size!)
* Weigh up to 180 metric tons and grow 30m long
* Their tongues can weigh as much as an elephant and their hearts as much as a car

Building Demolition

Sometime last week an apartment complex situated in Guangdong (China) was successfully demolished by explosives. It is currently the tallest building demolished in this way in Asia. Angry Passengers at Chengdu Airport

The Chengdu airport was forced to close down today due to a fire breaking out with its electrical circuit. The fault created a large disturbance which estimated delayed up to 500 flights.
