Burst of the Anime Bubble?
The apparent Anime Bubble which was at its peak in 2006 has apparently burst. According to the Association of Japanese Animations (AJA), citing the airing of new anime last month was in the 30s compared to the same time in 2006 where it was in the 60s.

The entire market appears to be on a downward path due to the declining number of children, the recession and the widespread problem of internet piracy.
Instead of blockbuster hits of the past like Neon Genesis Evangelion and Mobile Suit Gundam the industry is instead pumping out carbon copy of the same moe/robot themed anime that are seen very often.
I used to be a keen anime fan some years ago but I have too noticed the same moe/robot keep popping up again and again. They really need to have more quality animes like what the Bandai people are pumping out (Code Geass+ Gundams).
This reminds me of the video game crisis in the 70s where the industries were pumping out low quality games which saturated the market leading to the crash.
