From a blogger in the US, a compiled list of the 21 most common aspect American sees in the country China/Chinese. Obviously is not a representation of all Americans but a selection. Here is the list:

Beware of Pandilla! (or rather Pan Kong)

1- Many Americans will ask where I am from. When I say I am from Xian none of them knows where that is. They usually only know Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong. Since then whenever someone asks where I am from I will ask them what cities of China do you know?

2- Some Americans actually think Japan is a province of China. This surely will satisfy the anti-Japan activists in China. (To be honest I have seen people like this before, they can not even point out where Australia is! Let along a small island nation beside China)

3- They think the ancient Chinese are all expert Martial Artists capable of some extraordinary feats. (I reckon this is because of those movies like Crouching Tiger & Hidden Dragon and the perception of most Asian males being Jackie Chans)

4- Most Chinese knows Kung Fu (Eg what I explained above)

5- Chinese people does not need western medicines. They simply eat a butch of herbs to heal themselves. (I am not sure how this came about, perhaps too many online games with potions?)

6- English is a lot simpler than Chinese because there are only 26 letters in the alphabet as oppose to the 40 odd thousand Chinese characters.

7- Tibet is from early history not part of China. (The activists will not be happy anymore)

8- Taiwan is not a part of China because they have a separate government. (Again not happy for the activists lol)

9- Similar to the above but this time talking about the past Dynasties where there was a foreign ruler eg the Mongols in the Yuan Dynasty.

10- No religious believes

There are 11-21 as well but they are along the same idea. Eg. China has beautiful scenaries but polluted environment. Chinese being very rich (must be those overseas students).

Building Demolition

Sometime last week an apartment complex situated in Guangdong (China) was successfully demolished by explosives. It is currently the tallest building demolished in this way in Asia. The task to destabilise the main support columns alone cost 55,000 RMB and the whole process was estimated to have cost around 3 million RMB. Angry Passengers at Chengdu Airport

The Chengdu airport was forced to close down today due to a fire breaking out with its electrical circuit. The fault created a large disturbance which estimated delayed up to 500 flights. There were a lot of angry customers expecting refunds even going into damaging the airport's properties.
