Tradition wise Japan is the same as Korea in terms of the wife being the one in control over household finances. Even in today’s anti-sexist society this tradition still holds true. This survey covered 2,000 Japanese women under the age of 30. The study is based on a Japanese average salary of 450,000 yen per month.
The surveyed question was: “How much allowance will you give to your husband after Marriage”
Close to half of the result was pointing to a 1,000 yen per day allowance! ($10 USD)
