Exploding Ipod in South Korea
A few days ago a government official from South Korea announced that Apple has agreed to its government’s request of recalling all 1st generation Ipod Nano in Korea. This is widely due to the product’s rare chance of having an exploding battery . Since December last year there has been numerous reports of the Ipod battery melting and exploding due to overheat. While Apple is offering battery replacements there has been no attempt at a costly product recall until now. Apple is the second biggest company in the mp3 market in South Korea, after Samsung electronics. It is speculated there are as much as 155,000 1st generation Ipod Nano sold in South Korea between 2005 and 2006. Better check your Ipod next time when it feels hot!
