Top Ten Sexist Swimming Pools
Number 10 - Koh Samui Resort, Thailand
Nothing spectacular at Number 10 except a wonderful view of the Thailand island scenary!

Number 9 - Oman Bustan Palace Intercontinental Muscat
After a 18 months re-development at the Oman Bustan Palace this 164m long luxury headed pool was built

Number 8 - Quincy Hotel, Singapore
Surrounded by glass this up market luxury pool is built overlooking one of the busiest streets of Singapore. Special lightings are also offered in the evening!

Number 7 - Golden Nugget, Las Vegas (USA)
Valued at 300 million USD this expensive 3 storey luxury pool with its own waterfall and five types of sharks is more than enough to be in the Top 10!

Number 6 - Intercontinental Hotel, Hong Kong
The famous intercontinental hotel pool overlooking all of Victoria Habour! Magnificent evening views!

Number 5 - Viceroy Luxury Hotel, Miami (USA)
Located on the 15th floor of the Viceroy hotel overlooking the busy streets of Miami this triple pool combination offers a 2 acres of swimming space

Number 4 - Umaid Bhawan Palace, India
With rose pedals covering the pool this royal medieval looking pool truly deserves its place in the Top 5. Looks a lot like something out of fairy tales.

Number 3 - Caruso Ravello Hotel, Italy
One of the most celebrated coastlines in Europe and surrounded by ancient Roman ruins. This is most likely the closest place you have to an ancient luxury experience

Number 2- Viña del Mar Hotels, Saint algarrobo (Chile)
The biggest man-made pool in the world. Covering a distance of almost 800 meters this pool in Chile is big enough for you to sail on! This pool provides a heated area of both water and sand for those who enjoys an evening swim.

Number 1- Park Hyatt Hotel, Tokyo (Japan)
Made famous in Bill Murray’s film Lost in Translation this japanese luxury pool is located on floor 47! Overlooking all of Tokyo and even Mount Fuji. The pyramidal shaped roof with solar lighting adds to this spectacle.

Which one would you prefer? I personally liked Number 3 the most, nothing beats the roman ruins in the background!

Al Bustan Palace in Oman has, of course, other pools. But the infinity pool is the most spectacular – here are some pictures of the hotel and a different angle of the same pool http://blog.omanholiday.co.uk/blog/_archives/2008/11/2/3958588.html
I agree with you the Roman one is stunning

The one in Chile looks pretty cool, I wouldn’t mind going to that,
even if I don’t really like swimming

Sawadee Khrab! I’m about to go to Samui Island and I’m sooo excited about it. Already got my flight to Suvarnabhumi Airport and from there to Samui Island, I found your great site on Google and it seems that you know a lot about this island. Would you please give me a hint where to stay on the island? I’ve read there are some fantastic resorts near Maenam and Choeng Mon… Thank you in advance!

Have just returned from a fantatisc holiday on Samui, stayed at Rocky Beach in Lamai which is less busy than Chaweng, superior hotel and awesome bays. We rented a big motorbike for only 800 baht per day and would drive around the island. So many great places to eat, our favourite spot was Thai Food Heaven in Chaweng Noi which had the most fantatisc view over the beach, the staff was really friendly and the food so delicious, we went for sunrise drinks. My husband and I had a great time and will be back for New Year.

I was in Samui for the last 2 weeks of March 2006 and had a remarkable time - I always do! The grooviest part of the year is ‘tween late May until November (the monsoon season). When I was there, it rained down a a couple of times, but then quickly dried up after. Many people visit in the high season (November to March) because of nice temperatures, blue skies and low rainfall. As a answer tourism is at its highest and everything can be a little more high-priced. Hotels and tours can be quite jammed and some tourist hot spots are not quite so laid back.
